    Will a 12x20x24 be enough?
Hello, everybody! I'm new, so it's nice to meet you all.

I have a question, though. I recently bought a juvenile BP (my first), and because she's small I have her in a 10x20. She's growing, as can only be expected, and I want to make a switch soon. I have an abandoned 25-gallon (12x20x24) tank which I was hoping to renovate, but I've decided that could be a waste if it would end up being too small for her. I believe I also have a larger tank stored away in some deep crevice of somewhere which would definately be sufficient, but I would definately appreciate your input! Thanks!

i see that the dimensions are 12x20x24, but which is height length and width?

i have a 2 foot bp in a 20L and she will be there for another year or so.

    Welcome to the forum!

Regarding cage size, a good rule of thumb is one square foot of cage space for every foot of snake. A 20" x 24" tank would be able to hold a 40" snake, then. That should be okay for a couple of years, but eventually you'll want to get a larger tank.

Standard rule of thumb I use is 10 gal for babies & juvenilles, 20 gal for sub adults, and 30 gal for adults. With BP's bigger is not better, they feel more secure in small places, an enclosure too large can cause stree on the snake.
