Things just keep getting worse.

Well it started with the mites and now the flexwatt I use on my rack just bit the dust. I was watching tv and I heard a buzzing noise coming from the rack, I took out the top tub and put my ear up to the flexwatt and it was buzzing. I got a piece of foil tape to put over the connections to try to get a better connection and when I put the tape over one of the clips it just exploded. Sparks went everywhere and everything in the house went off. Now the snakes in the rack are without heat. I was just wondering if they would be ok without heat until I can rewire the flexwatt. The room their in is in the high 70s all the time.

Crank a space heater in the room and get it to normal cool side temps 82-84. That should at least keep them happy until you get some new flexwatt.

ive got more flexwatt but its 2am here and I cant rewire everything until the morning.

I don't think he was being evil - they both know and are friendly with each other.

He was just joking with him telling him he could get red bull to stay awake, and then he wouldn't need to wait until morning - at least that's how I took it! ;)

just a little update, I rewired the top shelf with a new piece of flexwatt hooked it up to the t-stat and it rund like a dream now. Better than it did before the little explosion, weird. The old piece was fried on the ends and chared pretty good.

I figured as much. Red Bull tastes like *** and it'll keep you up for hours. O_O

Aw man; I feel you. My guys are just over a bout of mites, and I know it just makes you feel like the world's worst person when you see mites on your snakes. Are yours gone? I used preventamite and it really did a good number on those blasted things.
Sorry about your explosion; sounds like you handled it pretty well. I would probably have had a conniption and ran out of the house like a ninny, lol
