    Snake is blind for now
My snake is now blind.I went down to check on him and I could see his eyes were completly hazed.I could not see his pupil.Of course he is in the shedding process so I'm not completly worried. He also will not leave his hide,is shy,and very defenceive now.BTW he did not act like this earlier, and his eyes were alot clearer.

Your snake is not blind. There is a big difference between blindness and shedding. While in shed, it's normal for them to be more defensive. They are more vunerable, since they're eyesight is worse than usual.

As far as I know they are blind as soon as there eyes change color.Temporary blindness is part of the shedding.

And you heard this from where?

I know while mine are in shed, they can still see me. They react to motion, so therefore are NOT blind. :wuv:

React to motion because they feel vibrations that we cannot. They act defencesive because they can't see during sheding.

When in shed and eyes are blue they are pretty close to no sight.
Your bp see's you thru heat and vibration.
Heck even when there eyes are clear they have very poor eyesight.

" How can they feel vibrations thru air" ????? Ummm they feel it thru ground.
My bp knows it when I walk in the room from the slight vibrations he feels from my feet on the carpet.

I do hope most don't think they hunt and react from what they "see"
Their best sight is thru their tongue
