    Argentine Boas
Hello Im interested in learning about this specie of boa and how to care for them. And the Pros and Cons of keeping them. And if anyone knows of a good breeder to talk to about purchasing one. And if I could see some pics of babies and adults. thanks Aaron

The only "cons" I know of are that they can be nippy as juveniles, and they can get fairly large, larger than a BCC. The "pros" are, they tend to really mellow out as adults, and they can get fairly large, larger than a BCC. Care is the same as BCC or BCI. The best breeder I know of is Rio Bravo Reptiles in Texas. They specialize in localities.

Absolutely golden info - thanks manny!

As of yet I am 100% pythonic - but that's nothing one of these won't (eventually) cure!

In the next couple years, if everything goes according to plans, I'm going to get breeding pairs of Argentines, Longicuada, and Amaralis from him, oh, and Hogg Islands.

I am not sure about their size, but they are neither BCI or BCC; they are BCOs. They are just like other BCs in as babies are a little nippy, but calm down quick. A friend owns one that I housed for a few months awhile back and it was as gentle as a puppy dog. It was a male, about 4 years old and a little over 7 feet. Their patterns are awesome.

A nice dark contrasty argy makes me drool so bad.. BCO is just so cool.

I did not know that they grow larger than BCC. I'd like to see a picture of an adult female..

Oh and Erin.. I hadn't heard of many other people that admire the longicauda! Their dark head markings and the ones that are more black and white are just stunning.

Argies are great, I had two girls last year and they calm down nicely with regular handling. They do get around 10-14ft long and are heavy bodied, check out Basically Boas gallery. Mike's wife is holding a large girl in one of the pics.

Yeah I have seen that pic before.. it just didn't look that much bigger than a BCC.

The largest I've seen in person was 9ft, gorgeous black/white female!

They are beautiful snakes! I'm surprised they are not more popular, I guess their size is a negative for most. I regret selling my girls!
