Most Ridiculous By-Law Ive ever heard

Where I live is on the edge of my township , 5 mins away from the next one. Each township (useally covering6-7 towns) having there own rules of course. Well my friend who lives 5 minutes away in the other township was asking me alot of questions about my pets, my snakes and beardie in particular and asked me how I was able to keep them, I started explinaing how they eat and heat etc etc and he said "oh no no, not that, I mean with the law, how do you keep them?, Id love to have one but I dotn wanna mess with them" I asked him wtf he was talkign about and he said that his township has a ban on ALL REPTILES anything that belongs to the reptile family is illegal according to there By-Law. No cameleons, turtles ,snakes Nothing what so-ever. He thought i was in his township but thank god im not :D ...I find this like unbelivable, I could see certain species or weights but they dont even do that, just everything.

Wow, that just makes me :( . I'll never understand the prejudice against reptiles... common, we've all had the dog bite-snake-bite conversation. It's just not fair.

That is pretty extreme. I would really dislike living in that township.

The place is called Minto Township, its like 5 hillbilly towns that make like 5 normal city blocks.....very small...but still....i think its plain dumb.........what harm will a gecko do???

Seriously, though, I think a lot of these laws and regulations get passed because of fear and ignorance. Pretty sad.

ya know, growing weed in your house is against the law to but they catch ppl with the high power 400 watt HID lighting by flying helicopters with a infrared camera. i don't think they will be able to detect 12" flexwatt that way so i say he should go for it. I'm sure he wont use that powerful of a heat lamp either.
