    laying on side. eggs soon?
I have a gravid female that is laying on her side most of the time over the heat source. She was doing this only sometimes but seems to be doing it more often now. Does this indicate eggs soon? She is super lumpy and the eggs outlines are pretty visible. Chris

Make sure you get that incubator up a week in advance at least! You have about 30 days after the shed.

Thanks. She has shed. I guess I just need to be patient and certainly be ready with the egg cooker! Another female I have is about as far along(visually) but does not do much laying around on her side at all. Identical habitats. Chris

You might want to keep accurate records so you always know where in the cycle you are at. Better than being surprised! :)

I bought these two females from local pals. They where part of their breeding stock that they where kind enough to part with them post insemination.

SCARY :O I got my incubator dialed in this weekend. I used a mini fridge, flexwatt, helix and a little computer fan. Seems to be working like a champ. Although I showed my ignorance with computer parts, I bought a fan that advertised blue LED lights. I was thinking that would be neat and subtle. Turns out blue LED lights means erratic techno flashing, enough to put my in the crazy bin. Nothing a pair of needle nose pliers could not fix ;)
