Aspen vs. Reptibark

I have been using aspen for a couple months now, but yesterday I swithched back to ReptiBark cause Petco was having a special buy one 10qt bag and get a 4qt bag for free. So I bought two. Anyways I noticed last nite after changing the aspen to Reptibark that my temp rose by 5 degrees and my humidty 10. So I tried a little experiment. I took the current readings from another snake cage that still had aspen in it and switched it out with ReptiBark. Same thing happened my temps and humidity rose. Has anyone else noticed this between the two or am I talking crazy?

i know that when i used reptibark my humidity got a lot higher, but ive never noticed the temp goin up.

i do know that once the reptibark dries out a little bit it will drop the humidity again. i dont know about the temps

Matbe it was just fresh. Never niticed it before. Oh well.

Same thing happened to me. I used to have crushed walnut but I swapped it out because I didn't want the pieces going up the BP's nose, but my humidity was also low. I bought the reptibark and had a 7% humidity jump. Spray it once in a while and you won't have to worry about humidity.
