    retained shed on tail?
Hello, Sir Hiss shed yesterday. Everything went according to plan except for no more than half an inch on his tail. Should I worry about this? Soak and try to get it off, or wait till he sheds again? BTW, I think that I have managed to find a way to keep hold of my pet snake....I found a replacement coach for one of my teams and have freed up some considerable time in my schedule...funny how you can give up a paying job to find time for a beautiful BP.

I'd soak. You don't want decreases circulation in the tail. Plus it's such an easy remedy. ;)

I'm glad you don't have to give up your bp. It sounds like you needed a bit of time cleared up anyway. (that way you don't drive yourself to an early grave :P)

Congrats on the almost perfect shed. If you wan't to remove the last bit of the shed, soak him in a luke warm water in a little rubbermaid/sterelite container. Make sure that the water does not reach levels more than 1/2 or 3/4 the height of the snake. Put the container inside his enclosure. Soak him for about an hour and then try and let him "run" through your hands. The shed should come off easily. If not, soak him for another hour and try again.

got my tub full of lukewarm water all ready to go last night, picked up Sir Hiss and Viola! He was able to get rid of the retained shed on his own...gone. Thanks for the help though!
