    Cool snake stories.......got any??
I figured I'd try this out ....I always love to share stories, esp. snake ones, just to see the different and interesting ones people might have, be it fact or fiction.I'm not talkin about some B-movie type far out made up stories, just interesting or cool ones. This past summer I went to the Phil. zoo with some friends, and theyhad to practically DRAG me out of the reptile house..but not before I was able to get this nifty little folktale. It was on a plaque next to the king cobras exhibit (who was a really cool guy by the way)...enjoy!
One night, while the Buddha was meditating, it began to rain. On his way home, it began to rain even harder and floodwaters began to form. It was very cold that night, and the Buddha feared the long journey home, so he began to meditate.... when all of a sudden, a large nine headed cobra appeared. The snake took the Buddha in its coils and lifted the Buddha from the floodwaters to safety. The cobra then spread its nine hoods as a shield to protect the Buddha from the cold and pouring rain and followed the Buddha the whole way home. Upon returning home the Buddha blessed the cobra and thanked him for his kindness. Legend has it that the mark on the back of the cobra's hood is the mark left by the kiss of the Buddha.....
    Sooo..whaddya think? I love it.....

That's a cool one.. I hadn't heard that one before.

I'm too tired to think of any stories right now.

That ones pretty famous and is why the cobra is so honored in India. We watch a SnakeMaster documentary that was filmed in India, lots of old ruins with snake and more often than not cobra carvings on them.
