    Kingsnake Herpin'
    Hello everyone,

I was looking into going herping for an AZ Mtn, Kingsnake because out here it is legal to keep them as pets so long as you have a hunting license. Just wondering if anyone out there knows of a great place to look near Flagstaff, AZ.

Now...this is just my opinion....but I would never go into the wild with the intention of trying to capture an animal to make a pet of it. It's one thing to rescue an animal and maybe keep it because it's injuries make it unlikely to survive on its own....but I wouldn't go looking for a wild animal just to keep it.

If nothing else, it is likely to come with a slew of problems, such as internal and/or external parasites and be very difficult to acclimate to captive husbandry. I would look for breeders and try to by a captive-born-n-bred individual.

Otherwise, I don't have an answer to your question, even though I'm in AZ. I don't know anything about the Flagstaff area and am no good at finding animals in the wild anyhow. LOL
