First Feed/shedding question
Well, first meaning the first time I fed him. He is about a month or 1.5 so old and has had eaten 2-3x before he was given to me. I have had him in his new home for about a week and decided to try to offer him a mouse. He had been in his favorite hide for about 2 days, and my sister/brother in law were over and wanted to see him so I took the top off his hide and brought him out, and he cruised around the tank a bit. I then offered him a mouse and he wound up and struck it immediately and ate him right away (happy!) so my snake is eating, good.
But while I was watching him i noticed some skin up near his neck looked a little flakey... he had been in his hide for a few days, and before that I was gone for 3 days so i didnt notice if he was bluing... if he is indeed about to shed, is it bad that I fed him?
Re: First Feed/shedding question
It's not going to hurt him. I offer food regardless their shed status. Some people don't offer, since they know their snake will likely refuse.
I'd wait 48 hours and then check him again. Make sure your humidity correct. Maybe even offer a humid hide. He'll be fine until then. Just make sure to allow him to digest his food, so you don't cause a regurg.
I also wouldn't recommend a lot of handling on feeding day either. :D
Re: First Feed/shedding question
Humidity is 74% heat is 95 on warm side, 82 on cool side. He is in the middle box so around 85 probably.
I plan on leaving him be. He has a big water bowl, and with the humidity up near 74% I think he should be fine?
Re: First Feed/shedding question

Re: First Feed/shedding question
I went to the pet store the other day to get his food, and i saw 2 ball pythons there, looked to be hatchling size... they had only 2 hides in the whole place, and the heat was at 70-74 and humidity 25%, they didnt look too happy :(
Re: First Feed/shedding question
i would report them to your local "animal police"
