other f/t warming methods?

are there any other ways for heating up f/ts besides the hot water bit? (f/t on plastic over hot water).

jw. we had a bit of 'fun' last week with the frozens last week.

the hot water worked well with two previous corns i had (but they were on rat pinks). other suggestions or was i just sol?

I usually set the bag of frozen rodents in an empty tub in the rack at about 4-5 pm...by 8-9 pm they are generally defrosted all the way. Usually my ball pythons take the rats just like that, but sometimes my picky eaters will not take them unless I warm them up first. When I warm them up, I still use hot water and plastic bags.

Another thing that I do sometimes (if I remember) is transition the rodent from the freezer to the fridge when I get up in the morning. That will defrost them, so that they are alot easier to warm up when the time comes around.

i get my frozens from Dixie Reptile show,
(soon to be getting some from:)Wet Pets & Pups,
Petco or Petsmart(they both might have one- there is probably one near you if your'e in miami).

I've seen them at petco and I remember purchasing some fuzzies... do they have them any bigger? I'm tired of going to my local reptile shop and buying only a few live and going back every week. I'ts pretty far too. Also, can you refreeze f/ts if your snake isn't hungry?

yeah, it should have them- the one we went to had a freezer (that i walked right past and then needed help finding X_X )
either locate the elusive freezer or ask- the assistant pulled out a small rat for me.
i think it was like- 3.00$ or a little less

depends. if you do refreeze it- i would suggest doing so asap after vacuum sealing it and not keeping it too long.

someone else may have a better suggestion

if you are going to buy in multiples I would suggest buying in bulk from one of the links that JBallPython provided. Most pet stores charge around the same price for frozen rodents as they do live....at our petco it is actually cheaper to buy live than it is to buy frozen. If you buy a bunch at one time it could save you over $1.25 on each rodent...that can add up to be alot of money over a few months.

exactly. i'd seriously suggest either looking for feeder breeders in your area or hitting up those links
