Re: Substrate
I use spagnum moss. I like it cause it is pretty natural looking, and it was the closest thing I could come to for natural that they would not tear up. I thought about usng live sheet moss, but they like to burrow a bit instead of using thier hides, so I am afraid to use that. Although, I wish I could.

Re: Substrate
I use aspen, since I have it on hand for the bps. Mine likes to bury himself in the stuff, and is starting to use his hide more too.

Re: Substrate
paper towels all the way for me. no risk of ingestion, easy clean-up, cheap and i never have to search the cage for eggs--females are provided with a lay box and don't dig or bury eggs elsewhere. since i have a lot of cages, natural looking substrate isn't a huge concern. my large adult cages are somewhat naturalistic with bamboo and foliage which i like, but i still use paper towels for them. i have tons of kritter keepers of all sizes for hatchlings and juvies and anything other than paper towels isn't even an option for all of them.

Re: Substrate
Thanks for sharing! For those of you that don't use paper towels, do you feed crickets on the loose substrate?

Re: Substrate
I do not use crickets at all. My geckos get CGD, Clarks, Herptivite and Rep Cal to suppliment for thier requirements.

Re: Substrate
Yup, I feed CGD too. I will occassionally supplement with crickets, but I usually feed in another tub.
