Just go to the office store and get large binder clips. They work great.

You can drill a hole and use nuts 'n bolts to secure the lid...it might take you a moment to get in and out of the tub, but its certainly secure....

I used to work in an office, and there actually are these HUGE black binder clips, like 4" long, that could possibly work. Only problem with those, is that when stressed, they have a tendency to snap off- not good when you've got a anxious snake pushing against a lid.....

With the nut and bolt idea, all you'd need is a very very small screw so you wouldn't spend too much time twisting the nut on and off. Thats how we secure most of our larger boids in tubs at my work.

thanks- im probably going to stick with that nut/bolt idea with a short/fat screw. id probably just leave those on(locked) at night or when my boyfriend or myself arent present. otherwise, we're usually in the same room as crowley (and will be with any other herps we aquire) and would hear the top popping off.
    thanks again guys.

I don't have the 4" clips.. but the large ones I got at office depot keep my 7' surinam red tail boa secured.

I use the small and medium binder clips. I only use 8 for each tub.
