Shedding again after two weeks?
MY BP Bubbles just shed maybe two weeks ago...then decided to shed again....I picked her up today and noticed her colors were very dull considering how bright she was wednesday when i fed her. I looked and her eyes were blue again.
This is normal correct?
Re: Shedding again after two weeks?
I can't say as any of mine has shed again that quickly, but I've been only doing this since March '04. As long as she is acting okay, looks good, temps and humidity are okay, I wouldn't worry. As far as that goes, I thought shedding was a sign of growth, so if that IS the case, you are definitely doing stuff right! :D Good luck, relax and enjoy your snake! ;)

You can also get more frequent sheds if your snake is stressed or unhealthy. Like vinnimac said, check your temps and humidity.. make sure your enclosure is set up correctly.... and if all that still produces frequent sheds, then a vet visit may be in order... If you've never had a fecal done on your snake, it wouldn't hurt to do that now anyway.... rule out internal parasites..
Good luck!

Hmmm....
I have fed her two mice the last two feedings. Maybe thats a cause for her sudden growth. I was told to feed her two because she was between a mouse and a small rat. I'm still new so i took the advice. I'll go back to one mouse.
She's quite a happy snake. She's very friendly, eats instantly, and is always moving about her tank from side to side settling in.
Her tank is held at about 90 on one side and about 85 on the other with a total of 87 or 89 overall temp. Humidity is kept as high as i can keep it. I spray it above 60% and then it will drop to 20% when i see it later.
Maybe she's just growing fast

its also a good idea to get a lil diary or jotter and keep it as a record book for your snake, jot down feeding detaile, how many/what type/when/sucessful/refused/date etc and note down the date of each shed. this helps me know when my guys have shed last and can help predict when they will shed next after a lil while. like i know my BP Selma will shed roughly once every 2 months as he aint a baby no more but still isnt fully grown. i gathered this info from my record as he had shed 3 times in my care and each one was after 2 months +/-, knowing that i was able to predict his latest shed.
that and records are also useful if you change anything, if your bp stops eating or if you need to tell a vet what/when he last ate/shed.
in the event that you have to sell a snake a record also shows that it is a good feeder, how old it is and how often it sheds. so unless you have like 50 snakes a record is an easy ten minute job that takes no time at all to keep and can be quite valuable.
