Pics of the Gang: babies and all! *dialup warning*
After the big clean today I finally took some pics of the ratties and the babies! Btw...I never found the dead pup today when I cleaned o_o Regina musta been hungry...poor lil..it

This is Frank. I think she is pregnant because of the bulging in her stomach. She's usually quite slender. Members of my other threads: should I move her out soon?

    Introducing mama Regina!

And her babies!! I'm kind of sad. Because the Carpet Python I am getting eats rats this size. I think I'm going to half to take half of the litter out to be frozen and the others to be raised up to fuzzy size :(

Looks pregnant too. I would move her for a week or so and watch her.

I'm no rat reproduction expert here but just from my experience with my own small group of females I'd say she looks preggie to me too. I usually pull mine about that stage and give them the rest of the time alone so they don't have to compete for food or water and can get lots of rest before the litter arrives.

If she suddenly delivers with the male present it'll likely be fine. I don't know if male rats know if it's their offspring or not? Lots of people leave the male rat in with the female but just be aware he may try to impregnate her again very soon after she delivers the litter. She doesn't look ready to pop quite yet though lol but you never know with rats some of them hide their pregnancies more than others.

Lucky I moved Alfred last night because...FRANK HAD BABIES TODAY :) A healthy litter of 10. A bit more messier than Regina's, but I'm guessing this may have been her first litter. Today I'm taking half of Regina's letter to be freezed...I'm sad yet I'm not...
