Update on Seperation of Snakes
Well, I don't know if you guys remember, but i came here and found out that my 2 snakes that have been together for 5 years should be seperated, and I did.
Its been about 6 weeks or so, and things haven't been going all that well.
The female, who is in the original cage, a 55gal., seems to be okay (although she didn't eat last week..ggrrr)
The male, though, has been acting really wierd. He will NOT go in either one of his hides. I tried giving all sorts of different kinds, and I even gave him the old ones from the old cage he was in. He's been laying his terra cotta water dish the whole time.... I thought it was just because he had a large meal and needed to shed, and when he did shed, he's still in the dish. All the temps are right, theres 2 hides... I don't get it? I actually took the dish out, and he just lies right there where the dish would be.
Can he get sick by lying in the water dish all the time? What could be wrong ?
thanks guys

Sounds like a problem with your temps.

Re: Update on Seperation of Snakes
Would it be too hot or too cold?
Temps read out right, maybe time for new therm? (91 on hot, flux 81-83 on cool) But I use the same one to measure female, she seems okay... except like i said she didnt eat last week. Her setup hasnt changed since Ive had her.
Re: Update on Seperation of Snakes
I discovered one of my new snakes spending her time in the water dish, and upon closer inspection realized she had mites. You might want to check to be sure. They're easy to spot as black dots in the water bowl.

Often times, a change of scenery i.e. caging etc will cause them to need a couple weeks to acclimate. I wouldn't worry just yet.
