5 weeks in the life of a rescue!!!
Hi there I took in a royal on the 3rd of january this year with rather nasty thermal burns and the start of necrotic dermatitus, I was very worried so started by cleaning the open wounds with hibiscrub and saline, and I put her in a small tub slightly warmer than normal, with paper as a substrate and a ceramic hide and a small water bowl just big enough for her head to get in and drink nothing more. I started by cleaning her 3 times daily till her first shed then after that i did twice a day and she ate an XL defrost mouse, and she just shed last night so there are some stage photography!

    Thanks for looking

Wow Peter that's a definite improvement!

How was this poor snake so badly hurt? Heat rock? Dirty/wet substrate? What a mess that belly was but coming along with your great care.

The BCI we rescued had a thermal belly burn from exposure to a huge heat rock plus wet bedding but no where near that advanced thank goodness.

Can't wait for more pics as this poor creature regains it's health.

I just want to say that you are a truly good person to take responsibility of an animal in that shape and try to bring it back...good for you!:number1:

Wow. Those are really hard pictures to look at. But the dramatic improvement makes it all worth it. It's amazing what some consistent, determined tender-loving-care can do for an animal. And it's obvious this animal is getting the best of that!

Sure is good to see signs of a "happy ending" after viewing the terrible wounds that poor thing had to endure!
