    Unusual feeding question
This might sound unusual and even kind of silly, but what else besides rodents would ball pythons eat? A friend of mine brought up the silly idea of what would happen if I gave him something like a small cherry tomatoe. I'm certainly not one to experiment with my snake, but it got me kind of curious. What would happen if I were to put a tomatoe into his cage, would he try to eat it, completely ignore it? Would it be bad for him if he did eat it? What about Eggs? I know that some lizards and dragons like eggs, what about a ball python? Would he be interested in a broken chicken egg? Is there any health risk to him eating one if he is?

I'm simply curious, and would not actually feed him these things, so please don't panic.

    You are right.

That is an utterly silly hypothetical.

I don't think a bp would recognize either of those things as food. No proper scent, no heat signature, no movement...nothing to indicate that it is something that should be eaten.

I have heard of people feeding birds to their snakes, baby chickens and such...but have heard that doing so makes for some seriously stinky poo! :O I have no idea about the health merits of such a practice.
