Constipated Red Tail

I have had a Columbian Red tail for about 6 months now and he has only pooped once on his own. Last month I had to take him to the vet to get an enima!!! All of my temps and humidity are good should I maybe downsize his prey from small rats to mice or does anyone have any other ideas?

you should try to downsize your food and get your snake an enema again so you can tell if he starts deficating. If he still doesn't "go" then you should take him to a vet to get him checked out for a rare case of WORMS!!

A little more information may be useful. What is size/age is this snake? Has he had fecal? What size rats are you feeding?

He had a fecal last visit to the vet and everything came out okay. Look at my gallery to see pics of him and his enclosure.

What size rats are you feeding? Does it leave a lump or not?

Have you ever tried soaking him in lukewarm water, that tends to loosen things up a bit.

Guess what I just got home from the bar and rocky left me a huge present. I do soak him and I think that it worked this time. My fiance was taking care of it and I dont think that she was taking proper care of him. 8 hours in my hands and everything is better. I am dissapointed cause I thought that she was better at the husbantry but I guess not.
