My kid wants one!!

But I don't know anything about lizards. He's been good about saving his allowance and buying just some of the essentials ie: water bowl, heating pads, etc... What type would be a good starter for a 11 year old? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My first recommendation is a leopard gecko or a crested gecko. Both are easy care, stay small, and are generally very docile.
