Switching Substrate

I've used newspaper for about the last 2 months now and I would like to have something that looks a bit more natural. Whats a good natural looking substrate.

I use moss, the dry kind, but am planning on actually switching to live sheet moss of some type. If you look at my pics in my newest gecko post, "Whats inside the box???", you will see an example of what I use. It is not bad looking or anything, I would just like the live stuff for the idea of creating something that will "use" the gecko fecal matter to keep it healthy which I would think would have good effects on my geckos environment in the end.

if you feed crickets or roaches it is important to choose a substrate that will not be easily injested by your geckos. they can grab up small pieces of loose substrate when they are hunting and if a piece of bark or something similar is injested it could cause an impaction, so keep that in mind when choosing your substrate.

How is that Coco-fiber stuff. Looks like its small enough that if they got any it would go through.

I'm using a mixture of sphagnum peat moss(the short grain kind you get at Home Depot) and cypress mulch. They seem to do well with it, and since I feed crickets in a feeding cup, I don't have to worry about injestion. Keeps humidity pretty nicely, even with a screened top enclosure.

I just throw the crickets in the cage, I dont know what to choose.

I use T-Rex Coconut bark and it has worked pretty well for me so far. If you're worried about ingestion feed outside the enclosure. I don't feed crickets often with my handy dandy CGD! :)
