Real Quick Gomez Update

I'm kinda dead at the moment, and still have a dozen things to do today, but I wanted to pop in and let you guys know how Gomez is doing!

He ate for us already, no problem, but we're still giving him some space to get settled in, especially since we went and changed his hides on him... not that he cares, he's still loving the skull :P In fact, he ate *in* the skull... sorta. He wanted to see what he could do while remaining comfy and cozy in there. He wriggled around experimentally with the mouse in his mouth, finally coming out partially to get it down. Jamie wasn't kidding, he's quite the little piggy, and he ate with us on only the second day here! He roams at night, but during the day he can generally be found curled up in the skull taking a nap. /(^v^)\

His new hides are terri-cotta clay pots I got at Home Depot, and Karen chipped with a hammer. One of them cracked funny but he can still use it as a top-entry hide if he wants. I sanded them down with such vigor I took a good patch of skin off my right index finger joint, but he's more than worth it and I'll be happy to do it all over again when he outgrows these. :D No sharp edges for our boy! And they help keep the humidity perfect!

I'll post pics sometime this week, and we intend to try a bit of cuddling time Wed before we give him a second meal. He's SO cute, and always peeking out at us when we've checked his temps and water, or when we were switching out his hides. He even flicked his tongue along Karen's wrist while she was putting one of the new improved hides in, and she didn't even notice till I pointed it out! What a sweetie. :love:

Sounds like he's doing great and is settling in beautifully for you two. There's nothing better than giving them this precious time, even though it's a killer to count the days till they can be handled (never changes, even later on that 48 hours or so after feeding day is very long LOL).

I think you two are doing a wonderful job with Gomez and are going to reap the rewards with a lovely healthy, well adjusted snake you can enjoy for years to come.

I am so glad to hear how well Gomez is doing for you guys. Sorry about the finger. But you are right, it's definatly worth it!

He certainly sounds like happy, well-adjusted little snake :) and what a wonderful mommy he's got! I can see you traipsing round the shops looking for larger and larger skulls as he grows :D

I love hearing the updates and can't wait for more pictures of your beautiful boy!

Thanks you guys! We really want him to be a happy healthy well adjusted lil guy. :) Here's a few new pics of his tub since we switched out the hides... And yes, those are stickers on the outside. I'm a dork and well aware, lol.
