I might get more suris!

Well a lady at work from who I got Lurch my male granite yellow anaconda, and Donovan my male dumerils boa (both AWESOME snakes) now has a breeder pair of surinam BCC boas she needs to sell! A cool plus is the female is gravid.

Needless to say I'm interested. :P Surinames are one of my absolute favorite snakes of all.

The only thing is my mom's crabby now so I have to wait until tomorrow to ask her and get the OK from her. If she says yes, then I'll make the lady an offer.

It's exciting.. I love my boas! Just pray that my mum says yes! ;)

April, you have to be one of the most fortunate young ladies in the world. Not only are you blessed with a very understanding mother, you have the smarts to take care of them all properly. I am very jealous of you. It is very hard for me to find snakes here, and they just seem to fall into your lap. That being said, I bet you put every spare penny into getting them and then caring for them.

lol.. yes my poor mum has been converted from a snake hater to a snake mom (has her own corn snake) and she really does love my snakes, she just gets a bit intimidated by so many (but she even helps me hold Bellatrix the 7' dumerils boa so I can give her her shots!)

They do cost me though silly buggers. I spend $60 a month on rat food alone, and I'm in the process of moving all the snakes into racks.

$60 is about my budget for cricks. I have spent $1200 9Prob more) on herps since I got Salina. That was August 26th. That's an average of $8 a day. I am looking to spend another $1500 in the next 3-4 months on snakes and accessories. This is not a cheap hobby by any means. I am sure you work very hard to be able to invest in your animals like you do.

Yeah. I'm a dog groomer, so for my snakes I get bit, pooed on peed on (80 lb lab 'puppy' peed all over me today, danced in his gallon puddle, and jumped on me) puked on, scratched, and other things I'd rather not mention. :P
