Johnson or Ranco?

I need a cheap costing thermostat for my bp. i am going to hook it up to some flexwat. by the way how much do i need for a 20 gal long aqurium?
i am going to be getting this all from Matt, of course, at mgreptiles.
both thermostats cost the same, so which do u guys think is better, or are they about the same quality? https://ball-pythons.net/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif

I use a Ranco and it works great and it is definately worth the money. But I have never used a Johnson so I guess I have no basis for comparison. I am pleased with the Herpstat that I use also so checkout Herpstats too....they are great thermostats.

i did check out the herpstats, but i am low on money and cant afford it with everything else i also need to get. i do think i like the ranco better, even though it is the exact same price as the johnson

i ordered the johnson. Matt said they're the same but the johnson has a light that tells u when the power is on or off

i emailed matt about two hours ago with a couple questions on stuff but i havent got a reply yet. does he not work on weekends?

Exactly, they both handle the same amount of wattage, both are analog.. The Johnsons is smaller in size and has a metal prove vs the plastic probe on the Rancos.. I personally like the JC units because they are smaller but thats just an anaststic thing.. It basically boils down to which one you think "looks" better.

Not normally at 8 or 9 at night on a Saturday:)
