    A good thing?
So I've only had my BP for a lil over three weeks. I got him at a pet store, and when I went there I picked him out of 4 other BPs and they were all pretty much identicle in size, shape and color.

Well I went back to the store yesterday to get some mice, I checked out the other BPs and they were SUBSTANTIALLY smaller than my guy. I guess I can only attribute this to the fact that my BP is a phenomenal eater, and takes down a mouse every 3 days so he grew a lot more than them in a short period of time. This is a good thing right?

every 3 days is too soon. a rodent the same girth as your snake once a week is recommended.

but yes, that would be why yours is growing so nicely :) you don't want to over feed them though... it's not good for them (kinda like us overeating)

Yep.. but feeding every three days is what we call 'powerfeeding'. These two are right, it is not healthy. Once a week is perfect.

If you want to continue feeding (almost) as much, you could feed 2 mice per week, on the same feeding day. That would give your snake a better chance to digest his food and he's still getting the same amount of food.

So after he's done with the first mouse, drop a 2nd one in there? I feel like he'd probably turn it down...

Then that would be all he would need. He'll do fine with once a week feeding! :D

My 8 month old can nearly always eat two large mice. I dangle the first one (f/t) for her to "catch and kill", and when that's 1/4 the way down I show her the 2nd one and sometimes she takes it immediately, sometimes if she's slow (or I'm in a hurry) I leave it on top of her hide and she collects it later. Only once did she only eat one of them.
