Kinda urgent, feeding with approaching tropical storm
I live on the east coast and the tropical storm is expected to hit tonight. I've already delayed feeding my bp for a two days because of the 4th so he's overdo to eat. The forecast is stormy for a whole week at least so I'm conflicted about feeding him now and risking a power outage vs making him wait an extra week to eat.

    How old is he?

He's a rescue so I don't know his exact age, but around 5-6 years. He's gone off food for longer than a week without losing weight so I'm not super concerned about waiting, but my gf seems anxious about it so I thought I'd ask to be sure.

If there's any concern about the power, best to wait. An adult male BP in normal condition could skip a month of feeding without any problem whatsoever, and in many cases much longer. Skipping a week is a complete non-issue. This is the case with most (probably all, but someone might be able to find some realistic exception) snake species.

Definitely skip the food tonight. I always delay feeding if there is any chance of a power outage. It’s safest for the snake and in the event that you need to evacuate or transport the animal elsewhere that won’t be an issue either. Especially with an adult, it is no problem at all to miss one meal.

This is all actually good info I never would have thought of. I'm in a hurricane zone myself.

The only good thing from a snake perspective is that if you lose power at this time of year, your snake isn't going to get too cold. You of course will be miserable and without a backup generator you'll lose perishable food in an extended outage.

We tend to lose power during ice storms so we have non-electric backup heat sources that can be placed strategically so that the snakes and the water pipes stay at appropriate temperatures.

There is absolutely nothing to worry about. It is very likely that in the near future the snake will go off food for months at some point.

I have a 14 year old Royal that has gone for almost a year without eating and didn't lose weight.

I don't know how often you feed but it isn't uncommon for a snake like that to go long periods without eating, followed by an increase in frequency.

Let the storm pass and feed later.

The snake will be just fine.
