Moldy Climb
So, I got a climb for my BP a while back, maybe a month or so ago. Today I noticed it was developing a (thin, but noticeable) layer of mold. I took it out, threw it away, and cleaned out the bedding that was surrounding it. But now I’m terrified, because while he only ever climbed on it twice, it’s still mold.
He’s had milk eyes and pale scales and lower energy which I’d thought was shedding, but now I’m scared is mold related. Has this happened to anyone else before? What did you do?????

Don't panic- snakes come across plenty of mold in the wild- your snake is in shed, & it's not mold-related. I'm not saying leave mold in a snake's home when you see it- but the likelihood that it has just caused a problem is awfully slight, & in any event, it wouldn't cause what you're seeing now -which IS a shed cycle. ;)

Re: Moldy Climb
Thank you, I appreciate it. I’m keeping an eye on him, as silly as it sounds I appreciate reassurance that I’ve spiraled the problem out of proportion. The climb was removed, and I’ll be looking for something new for him tomorrow.

It's not silly to care about the health of your snake, & when you're worried, it's real easy to imagine that something awful is going on. Asking was the right thing to do, it's why we're here. ;)

Oh yes, I can tell you with certainty this is 100% true. [emoji23] The amount of times I freaked out over my snakes on this forum and others. [emoji1787][emoji854]
