temp drop in caresheets

just reading through some caresheets for Bp's today and i noticed something. just about all caresheets state that its OK to have a temperature drop over night. Where does this come from? i know everyone or most on this site swear that its very important not to have a temperature drop over night. i keep my temps as constant as i can, but maybe someone can give some heads up on why this is. thanks

I'm still farely new to BP's, only about 5 months, but from what I understand it is OK, not necessary, to have a night time drop. I keep my temps. as close to constant as I can and have never had a problem. From what I have read, temp. drops are mostly used for breeding.

A long time ago, before anyone knew any better, people used to promote night time drops. Many of the first people to keep boids in captivity (over 30 years ago) thought that replicating a natural environment as much as possible would help them to better establish the animals that they were harvesting from the wild.

We've learned a lot in the last 10 years and now know better.

A lot of the caresheets that you read on the internet are based on outdated information or are just copied from other caresheets that are based on outdated information.
