So many pets I can't have...
I'm not sure if this is the place for this kind of thing but I just want to vent. I work at an animal shelter and we sometimes get reptiles. I so wish I had more space, time and money... I'd love to take them home... From a carpet python in the past year to now a black and white tegu... Ugh so many great pets I don't have the space or money for. It kills me that I can't take them home but then again maybe it's for the best. I would have so many if I could... Thankfully we work with a lot of shelters and rescues and they end up leaving before I have to suffer taking care of them at work for too long lol

I'm sure most of us would be every bit as tempted, but sometimes limits are a "good thing". ;) I say that as someone that had an open door for rescues for quite a few years- ;)

Makes sense. Just sucks when I've always wanted a black and white tegu and have researched basically everything I can about them but when the opportunity arises I don't have the space or money for what one needs... I'm just glad I have the self control to be like you can't afford that, leave it alone. I don't want to half ass an enclosure and make it work when I don't have the means for a bigger enclosure once it grows... I always try to remind myself if I can't provide the best for my animal then I shouldn't have it. Especially a big lizard or snake.
