Feeding Schedule 9 month BP
After a bit problem of underfeeding during shed and getting bit a few months back I put my Roxanne on my weekly feeding regimen again. Starting to shake off the fear of getting bit and bonding with her again. Her meals have been around 10-12% of her body weight but I feel she is still getting a little chonk. I’m getting some day old chicks this week and try them out with her ear regiment. I don’t have an accurate length but she’s about 600grams
Any opinions? I want to start putting her in at around a 10 day feeding schedule but I fear that hunger attack- lol

Not sure if this is a tedious question. But does anyone think she is absurdly overweight?

In the first pic, there is a little bulge right before the tail that makes me think she may be a little overweight. Certainly, nothing to worry about. The chart below (from ziggy the pig) illustrates what I mean. I don't see an issue with extending her schedule to every 10 days.

My 2 cents: No, not overweight. And that little bulge just above where the vent (cloaca) would be looks like she's going to take a dump pretty soon, so put on your best dry clean shirt or let her get some exercise on your best upholstered furniture- NOT! :D From where I sit, she's somewhere between slim & ideal on the above chart. BPs are not supposed to be built like colubrids.
Also, many female snakes have "hips"- at least they give that (slight) appearance because their tail is shorter & tapers more abruptly from the cloaca than the longer tails of male snakes. Exactly which is the case with this snake (or maybe both?) is very hard to discern from just a photo.
Re: Feeding Schedule 9 month BP
When my 2 bps hit 500g I put them both on 14-day regimens of small rat, and they both had absolute meltdowns about it. Every night between when they thought they should be fed until they actually were they'd dump water bowls, fill bowls with substrate, tear down climbing bars, generally throw a temper tantrum. They eventually got over it and are still both on 14 days lol. Do be cautious in that period after the old feeding day because they tend to try to nail anything that moves because they're sooooooo hungry :tears:. (They both survived this terrible ordeal and are around 750g and 900+g respectively)
