Deep heat projector - so many questions, please help
Hi friends. I was hoping someone could explain what exactly DHP is. I've read the seller websites but the technical wording is going over my head. Since it's kind of a new thing, I can't find many posts about it that would help give me context. I want to set it up but I should understand how it works first, I think.
How does it work? What's the difference between it and ceramic heat emitter lamp? why is is the new best thing? do I put it on a thermostat? Can my snake touch is and get burned?
can I use it in a bioactive with plants? does it need anything else to set up besides just the lamp? (like RHP? UTH?) I currently use UTH which I'm aware isn't the best and I'm trying to change it and set up bioactives.

I might come up with more questions later but I think that's it for now. Thank you in advance

I use them. They work like CHE's - they emit infrared radiation which heats surfaces rather than air. My carpet python will sometimes bask under it.

They get quite hot so they should not be placed inside the enclosure. IR penetrates plexiglass fairly well so I have it set suspended a few inches above the plexi top of the enclosure.

This video from Arcadia is pretty accessible.
