    is there anything i can do to assist my little ratties to get the idea of what their hammock is for? they can't seem to figure out that they are supposed to be sleeping in it LOL

    When I had pet rats I had the same problem. What I did was take a bunch of old socks and threw them in the hammock.. the ratties dove right in!

    well i have their little stuffy in there... they do climb in to pull it out and dump it onto the lower level of their cage... but i never see them in it.

    they do loooove to sleep under their plastic dome so perhaps they just like it better.

    edtied to add:

    what are the dimensions of your hammock... perhaps mine is too small?

    Hrm.. it was about 10" square for two rats. They loved it. They may be shy and would rather feel covered in the dome.

    ya, i gave them a bigger hammock yesterday after we cleaned their cage... and they still don't go in it... but they did run thru it LOL

    i think they are just in love with their dome. but i'll keep the hammock in... just in case.
