I once again ask what's going with my ball pythons head
So he looked normal for the past couple of days but I knew he was shedding so I left him alone. He's shed and his shed is one long piece with eye caps. Everything normal there but now he's got this pattern on his head.
I think he's scrapping the top of his head but again I can't see any noticable damage other than the color difference. He's only been in his warm side hide for a while so at least if it's that then I know the culprit. Both his hides are Vivarium Electronics hides and I don't think there's anything there to scrap on except the lettering maybe.
Any help or advice would be wonderful. Am I just over worrying and this is some pattern change that only occured with this most recent shed? Or is he actually scraping his head?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d831109466.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ccf33af3c1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3f8c2c7290.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...839c7cc52f.jpg

Okay, that's what I thought it was. Should I worry about it/change hides/treat it with vetericyn or should he be good and it'll come out in his next shed?

Vetericyn might help a little- it doesn't appear to be deep, but any break in skin, it's not a bad idea to treat a bit. Scrapes "happen"- just like we all do too. ;) If you see a sharp edge that might have been the cause- maybe sand it.
Makes sense. Reptiles are always slow to heal. So vetericyn it is and I've already checked the hide. I don't know what sharp edge he could be rubbing against. Maybe I'll just sand the whole inside just in case. Good to know he's probably as clumsy as me with scrapping himself on basically nothing lol.

The only other reason I could think of is if he eats live it could have been a well placed kick by a rat. And if that's the case it's a small nudge to the try switching him to frozen thaw.
Nope he eats f/t. He's just clumsy, I guess.
