im wondering if its ok to have the light on in my room at night when my snakes would be out. im usually in there reading reptile zines or the complete ball python and watching tv and i was wondering if it bothered my snakes at all.

I dunno but I'll admit that I am guilty of this as my ball is in my bedroom. He eats he's healthy and isn't afraid of anything so I think it's ok, but I'm sure someone will say it's bad.

well i don't know for sure... but since the moon is bright for approx 6 nights a month, they would have to be able to deal with some light at night.

besides, you do sleep don't you marshall? LOL - they would be getting darkness then, unless you're like us and have nightlights all over the place LOL

If your light cycle is pretty regular, they'll usually adjust to it. Like if you're sleeping during the day and it's dark, and you have your lights on at night, they'll adjust. But it's dark inside their hides anyway, so does it really matter either way?? I don't think so.

I'm breeding my cali kings this year, and they are kept in my room. Since I am also a night person, I cover the cages at night when it's dark out so they have a normal photoperiod for winter time.

funny i was thinking about this last night... and realized that we have our snake in the living room so there is a little light until we all go to bed...

so i can't imagine it bothering them.

and due to the lack of response by people like adam, jo etc... i'm guessing it's fine :)
