Egg Dimpling

This is my third year breeding, but my first year using perlite instead of vermiculite. In the past my eggs really never deflated much before hatching. This year though my eggs started to collapse on day 43. They were at about 91°-92° for the 15 days of incubation because I couldn’t figure out where the heat was coming from. Ends up my LEDs were producing extra heat. They’re on day 47 now and look like this which one assuming is normal. My concern is that there’s condensation collection on the eggs and I don’t want them to get moldy. What should I do to help prevent that?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e5c7522fe0.jpg

Personally I'd use some lightweight paper (towel or tissue) to blot the condensation off the eggs- & don't wait, they can drown if there's too much. Sounds like your humidity might be a little high?

Ok, I had done that once and just did it again. My humidity has been great up until now. I think the problem is that the eggs are starting to dent in preparation for hatching and that obviously makes the humidity go up. I removed the cling wrap I had on the container to hold in humidity, and I now just have the containers lid.

That's probably what I'd do too- at least for now-(& it's what I HAVE done in the past- just opened it up some to air out excess humidity) & then check back on the humidity.

Consider carefully lifting each egg up and out of the tub and insert a light diffuser onto and in the tub. So as the eggs are not in the direct contact with the perlite. That will help keep the eggs off the substrate and have more heat and tub oxygen to the bottom of each individual egg. You may want to redo the water to perlite concentration also. Maybe just squeeze out the existing water in the perlite as it is.
