The boy hit 10 years old

Sniper hit the decade mark today.

This boa has been fantastic. He was produced by Gus Rentfro (Rio Bravo Reptiles) and sold to me by Legacy Reptiles.

Sniper is a locality, Barranquilla, Colombian Boa.

Daski, he ate an XL rat today without a lump. I typically feed him monthly, but as you can see he's pretty lean and he actually was striking the glass the last two days so I knew he was ready for a feed.

I have fed him jumbo rats on two occasions and those were a challenge for him somewhat. I don't like the fat content of captive bred rat prey, so I prefer rabbits of equal size when I offer something bigger.

Sniper is close to 7 feet. Maybe under or just over, I haven't measured in ages. He's probably 9-10 pounds.

I am privileged to own this animal. He's beautiful and very predictable. Boas really are a fantastic option if you want an impressive snake but not a complete giant.

I'm hoping for another 20 years with Sniper.
