Breaking Research: Gender and MORPH Tests from Snake Sheds!
Snake Discovery recently posted a video on genetic testing for gender, morph, and locale in reptiles. Have a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqP8qGQ29nQ.

Amusingly enough, I was just talking to a local reptile shop about this two weeks ago.

Definitely would be handy for a couple of my new babies. But the guessing work is kinda part of the fun sometimes.

I really love that they are doing this, but there are going to be constraints, especially testing brand new morphs. Sex testing would be incredible for hatchling GTPs, and I'm sure other species that are too delicate to sex early on.

Hannah also has a similar project out of eastern Michigan
https://sites.google.com/emich.edu/b...csproject/home should be dropping off a bunch of sheds to her in a couple weeks.

I emailed Ben from rare genetics about donating sheds, but never heard anything back, so i donno. Then found out Hannah had her project going and it's local to me. So now my cleaning days involve ziplock bags lol.
