    My BP won't eat.
My BP hasn't eaten in 2 weeks. She has never done this before. I'm starting to worry. I did notice her belly is ever so slightly pink, so that probably has something to do with it. Temps and humidity are good. Other than that I don't know what to do.

How long have you had this snake? How many times has she eaten for you? How often are you handling her?

How old is she? Are you her first owner? Is she your first snake?

What are the actual temperatures & humidity in her enclosure? How many hides? What substrate are you using?

    ---------------

Seems likely she's just going into shed- many snakes refuse food at that time (in a shed cycle). A slight pinkish coloration on their belly is a common tip-off that a BP is going into shed.

2 weeks for a snake to not eat is quite normal- or even longer. There's nothing you need to do, other than relax & learn to recognize the normal phases that all snakes do.

Also, if she refused food & appears to be in shed, do not keep offering food- that will just make her feel stressed out.

I have had her for six months now. She was eating weekly until this happened. She is 8 months old. First time owner. Temps are in the mid to upper 80's on the hot side, low 80's on cool side. 2 hides, one on each side. Im using reptile prime by Brian Barczyk. I got my BP from him too. I do occasionally mist the cage to get the humidity up. I'm just having a lot of first time owner worries.

Sounds like you are doing a lot of things right. Congrats. What are you feeding her and what type of enclosure is this? Reptile prime is a great substrate. Are you feeding live or f/t ? Common for bp to go off food occasionally. Some will stop feeding if there is a impending shed cycle, if they are ill or otherwise uncomfortable and others go off food once they reach 1,000 grams in weight. I would start with tweaking the enclosure. Start increasing the feeding interval to 14 days in any case.

May I enquire what you use to test the surface temperatures ... especially under the hides ??

A stick on dial thermometer or a digital temp gun /thermometer ?

The pinkish belly leads me to think impending shed. Some of mine do not eat once theyre in blue or have gone to that pink stage until they shed.
