quick question for those of you who use those black hide boxes...
Quick question for those of you who use those black hide boxes...I have seen somewhere on here that you can put them in the dish washer...is this true? I'm trying to find the best easiest way to clean them well and If they can go in the dish washer that would be amazing for cage clean-outs. Is this true?

If not, what do you guys do to wash these types of hides?

    Thanks all! :)

I've seen posts that ppl put them in the DW too, but personally I just hand wash them as needed- soap & water, or wiped with the same disinfectant spray I use for all enclosures.

Is is safe to put them in the DW?

If I can then I will since it would mean less work. :confuzd:

I have. Just like any other plastic they can warp if they are jammed into a weird position, so make sure that you're not playing overloaded dishwasher Tetris.

I clean w F10SC. Time consuming, but works great. Don’t think Katie will let me put them in the dishwasher and some are prohibitively large.

You could also use chlorhexidine solution - diluted with water to a safe but effective level.

You can run them in the dishwasher. I just wouldn't heat dry. Take them out to air dry or wipe the down.

If you wash them with a dishwasher just make sure the water doesn't get too hot and that you don't use any kind of heat dry setting.
