    Weighing snakes
I weigh my snake from time to time but I don't really know what the best time is to get accurate results.
Last time I weighed him he weighed 10 grams less than before.
He's about 200grams. I feed him once a week. And I don't weigh him right after eating
But he usually takes a few weeks to poop so I am not sure if this can affect the results.
I want to weigh him again soon to see if he gained weight and not lost more but when is the best timing?

Since a snake eats and poops ~10%+ of its body weight easily, a 10%+/- difference in weight doesn't mean anything at all. If you do weigh (not necessary, really) weigh when it is convenient for you and for the snake, and write it down, and over time (months/years) the patterns may be interesting, or not.

Small changes in weight up or down aren't worth thinking about, since they're just noise.

For the sake of comparison, the "best" time is to be consistent for when you weigh: if you weigh right before a meal, do that each time; if you weight right after they take a dump, do that each time. And like already mentioned above, don't obsess too much about it because some of the weight IS either the meal being digested, &/or the former meal about to be "waste".

If you have a snake that's hard to feed, think twice about weighing them at all though, because you're bound to be causing some stress that won't tell you much anyway. Sometimes "less is more". ;)

For consistency sake, I weigh the day before feeding day.
