Unsafe to run Multiple Heatmats?
I was told that it was a fire hazard to run multiple reptile heat mats to a multi-outlet/power strip and then to a thermostat. Is that true? Isn't that how ARS and Freedom Breeder run their racks? My heat mats all have a built-in rheostat as well to limit maximum temp.
Is this safe?

Cool. Thank you for your response. I have been using all the same mats.

Well the way freedom breeder and most big breeders do it is having each heat panel or heat tape plugged into a herpstat 6, or freedom breeders version of that, and having each thermostat plugged into a power strip. Not the other way around like you’re describing. I don’t see any issue doing it either way though. Like KMG said, dealing with anything electrical will pose the threat of having a fire. I’ve never dealt with heatmats with built in rheostats though
