Banana super enchi breed with recomendation

Getting a Banana Super Enchi male. What would you recommend breed him with?

As I suggested in your previous thread, cinnamon and enchi are allelic. It's not a bad combo to look into as well. Banana cinnamon enchis are good looking animals.
Nikkubus also suggested some of the BEL complex stuff. I agree with that. YB enchis can look great too.

Otherwise it really depends on what you want to produce for yourself.
You said you were looking into breeding not as a pet. What did you want to do? You have to have some passion for it to start. Because right now you're just spending money without a plan. The super enchi is a great start because every one of his hatchlings will be at least enchi.... but now you need to have some other goal. Look around on morph market for some banana enchi combos or enchi combos. Find what you want to do.

Budget?

Preference for lighter snakes? Darker snakes? Lots of pattern? Little pattern?

You really should spend a good deal of time figuring out what you want to do before you start buying a bunch of breeding animals because the more thought you put in beforehand, the less you will end up with snakes you "outgrow" for your breeding program in a season or two and they end up pets that cost time and money to care for without producing any profit or progress. Even if you aim is to just help support your hobby rather than actual profit, it really pays to plan.

If you have a low budget, YB complex stuff would be great to get in there to boost the oranges and yellows.

Mahogany and/or Black Head are some of my favorite darkening morphs in combo with Banana and there aren't a lot of them around. They are a little more pricey, but should be a little bit easier to sell because of demand. Cinnamon and/or Black Pastel are common favorites with Banana that also look great.

Just spend a lot of time on MM and WoBP looking and daydreaming how you think certain combos might look and what you want to try. Make a list, make a pinterest of BPs you love the look at. Then you can evaluate after some time and see what direction you really want to go.

Also remember how bananas work, I've read/been told that males produce only one sex of banana ball pythons. So your male might be a female or male maker. Just something else to consider before jumping in.

Spend time with your snake, enjoy watching him grow and consider plans for a few years ahead!

No, it's their first choice I guess? One that wasn't listed in the first post.
I did ask breeding or pet and they said breeding.

It will just be interesting to see what happens because of how they're jumping in.

I am not breeding to sell or try to make money I am breeding as a hobby and to keep for myself. I could care less about making money off of them.

I'll jump in with the "Things you don't want to hear"™

If it's a hobby and your first ball python then I really think you need to slow down and think about what YOU want. Not what anyone here wants.
Though I suppose maybe you already have an idea? You did ask for suggestions and then made a choice that wasn't even on your list.

Jumping into something like this without having a plan or experience is a great way to burn out and loose interest quickly. I think most people are concerned about how things will turn out for the animals involved. That is why we ask about things like intent, money and familiarity on the genetics involved.

Money is a big consideration for you regardless of if you are planning to make any or not. You need to house and feed not just the animals you're breeding for a hobby, but also the babies for however long they are in your care.
How are you looking to re-home the hatchlings that you can't keep?
Do you know of a vet that is comfortable seeing reptiles in an emergency? Eggbinding can be fatal of not treated. Reptile vet visits are also more expensive than typical vets for a dog or cat.
Are you prepared in case of hatchlings being born with genetic or incubation issues?
Are you ready to possibly start breeding your own feeders?


There's a lot of things to consider. These are animals that live 20+ years.
From the posts so far, all we know is this is your first Royal and you want to breed. Nothing had been mentioned on previous experience keeping. Have you had experience with reptile keeping previously?
