    Handling my bp
I wanted to hold my ball python today but I have had a terrible cold for the last two days and I don't want to risk getting him sick is there a possibility I could pass it on to him?

    I wouldn't handle your snake.

If it's a general cold ... Your snake would be fine. They're pretty isolated to just humans. Your immune system on the other hand is currently busy trying to fend off this cold and you can possibly pick up a disease from your snake. Salmonella is still pretty commonly carried by reptiles.

If it's not a human cold, you can potentially pass bacteria to you snake that can cause a URI, but that's pretty rare.

It's just generally a good idea to avoid handling animals too much while you're feeling ill. Or when they're feeling ill for that matter.
