Rattlesnake fight ends with loser getting shoved off a cliff in Virginia

Noooo Poor Snake, I hope he was tough enough to survive that :(

A vicious “combat dance” involving two large timber rattlesnakes was recorded on a Virginia mountain cliff, and it ended in a move many consider foul play.

How sad...:tears: I had to back up & watch the slip again- they were so absorbed in their wrestling match that they weren't paying attention to the edge- the one that went over mostly did that to himself, his heavy body got too close to the edge & he simply slipped. Whether or not he could have survived that, I can't say. But if he did, it HAD to HURT. :( Poor snake- I'd have been looking for him, down below.

Heck, I thought that was breeding behavior. Bet the snake is fine. It hit the tree an then the ledge under it an then over it to a tree again.

I hope my date goes better then his:O

This is how male rattlesnakes decide who's the strongest- the one that gets the mate- it's basically just a shoving match. Going off a cliff was totally accidental, not part of the plan.

And yes, I hope your dates turn out much better :rofl: but this wasn't the actual rattle-date: it would be like if you arm wrestled another guy while on a rooftop to see who gets a date with :buttercup & then one of you accidentally fell off the roof, making the decision for you. :O

Wow that's insane! Hope the snake that went over the ledge made it out okay. That's an unfortunate location for them to have been fighting.
