Does anyone have any experiance with Western Hognose snakes? I have read alot about them and I think they are fascinating snakes. We do have Eastern Hognose snakes in our area, but I have yet to come across one while out field herping.

I keep a male Western, he is great stays small and is a character when it comes to handling him, he never bites or strikes but will give you his best cobra impression when you reach in and pick him up. He is a great eater does a small mouse weekly for me with no problems

They are neat little snakes.. make sure whoever you get one from has it eating unscented mice, because these guys eat frogs/toads in the wild and babies usually have to be weaned off of scented pinks.

Thanks Shelby. I will be very careful and do my homework before getting one. Also I will have to check for a good shop to have one shipped from as there are none in my area that deal with anything other than your "standard" in-home herps.
