    Enclosed/Exposed Rack
Anyone seen any extreme temperature difference between a rack that enclosed on all sides like an AP system vs. one exposed on sides and back like an ARS?

I've had both. I wouldn't say it's extreme, but with open version the outer tubs will run a bit cooler ambient temps.

During the winter I put a blanket over my exposed racks so that just the front short side is exposed, because there's a 5*F difference in the ambient house temp and it does make a difference.

Thanks for the info. With the lead time on the rack I ordered, thinking of doing something temporary like a metal wire rack. I was just curious how big of a difference it made on temps.

Is there a difference if you run ambient at 80 or 82 year round. Would either style make a difference? I do run heat tape set at 88 for hot spot.
