    CHE thermostat probe placement
So I am using a CHE as the only heat source for my enclosure, my question is where should I place my thermostat probe for my CHE (hot side) ....my hot side hide is back left corner and I have my CHE centered right above it.

    Thanks

I prefer to use a dimmer for my CHE instead of a thermostat. If you have to use a t-stat I guess you could let the probe dangle a few inches from the top of the enclosure if the snake can’t climb on it.

I'm using a pulse proportion thermostat, and why wouldn't you use a thermostat ? As room temps fluxuate that means you have nothing regulating temps when it gets too hot.

When I used a CHE with both a dimmer and a tstat. Both worked fine for me.

Using a CHE I used the wire fixture and would attach the tstat probe to the most outer ring pointed inward so it was in the path of heat. I still use this technique with my RHPs by gluing the probe inside a cable strap that I glue on the outer rim of the RHP. Has worked great and gives a clean look.

I prefer this to the often suggested dangling method.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t use a thermostat. I have on/off thermostats so I prefer to use a dimmer. I very rarely have to adjust them once they’re dialed in and they’re always within an 86-90 range.

    That's a really cool idea :)
