6 mo BP - 20/40 gall terrarium?
I am seeing so many different opinions/threads that it's stressing me out.
I first bought a 40 gallon terrarium but started seeing people saying this was way too big for a juvenile. He was doing well but I switched him over to a 20 gallon. He is way more active now and since he is a new snake, I am not sure if it's normal for him to hangout outside of his smaller hides for a long time. I don't want him to be stressed because he has a smaller space and is too cramped. I feel like he was more comfortable in the 40 gal... maybe I'm just over thinking. I will weigh him when I get home to give everyone a better idea on how long/big he is. I have both tanks still but need to return one of them soon.
Should I put him back in a 40 gal and just make it super cluttered or should I keep the 20 gal?
Also, just to make sure:
Ambient temp: 80-82°
Cold hide: Above 80° (nothing below 75°)
Hot hide: 90°
Humidity: 55-65%
Thanks everyone.

First off welcome to the forums, happy to have you!
You'll get some differences of opinion on this for sure and what works for one person/snake may not work for you. That being said, I kept my BP in a 40 gallon for almost the whole first year of his life. A lot of clutter, multiple hides, plenty of stuff to crawl through so he didn't have to be out in the open if he didn't want to be, and he did great. I did keep my warm side a few degrees higher than yours, right around 85 was my sweet spot and relatively easy to maintain in a glass enclosure.
I would be careful about moving him back and forth between enclosures, you don't want to cause unnecessary stress, and realistically each time you move him you should go back to the "no-handling until he eats for you 3 times consecutively" rule. So figure out what you want to do either based on our advice or your own research and stick with it.
