Is this okay?

I am having some trouble regulating the humidity in my cage, so I want to put my snake in one of those rubber made containers to regulate it better. I have only had my snake for four days. Would it be a problem to move him again so soon?

I have some questions for you then i might be able to help you.What type of heat are you using? UNder tank heater or above light? The reason i am asking this is if you are useing a undertank heater yes you can place you baby in a rubbermaid tub.If your using overhead light for heat this will dry out the humidity in your enclosure.If you are useing the undertank heater place the rubbermaid over half the area of the heat matt.Make sure you drill several holes in the lid or sides for air.Make sure to check on him/her a few times a day though to make sure everything is ok.If you are using the overhead light you can not place your snake in a rubbermaid as it will not keep your heat at correct temps plus it makes the air dry.I hope this helps.

If you are considering a switch over to rubbermaid/sterlite type enclosure just make sure you get it all set up first which might not be easy considering you already have the snake in another enclosure. Just concerned that if you take the snake from one enclosure and put it in another before you have the second one regulated properly that you are going to stress the snake out even more. Plastic housing is easier granted but it still takes a few days of mucking around with to get everything just right humidity and temp wise (more holes, less holes type thing).

Thankyou for the help, I have been able to keep the humidity under control now with a mist bottle. Not an optimal way I'm sure, but it will have to do untill the weekend. I am going to go get a more powerful under the tank heater so I dont have to move him, and so I can get rid of the light over the tank. I figure this is probably the best way, and I dont mind spending a little extra money to make his set up perfect. Any under the tank heaters you all would suggest?

Heat lamps dry the air out regardless of what type of enclosure they're in. I have a lamp on my sterilite tub, not optimal to be sure but I had run out of options to keep the ambients high enough. Now I'm resigned to misting twice a day, at least until I get my snake room built!!!:please: :please:
